Initially, the BDB/BKE qualification appeared to be a bureaucratic obstacle to obtaining certificates. However, it turned out to be an opportunity for learning, laying the groundwork for a lifelong journey into collective learning.

One key insight gained from this training was the affinities between learning, designing, and social movement organizing. All three require self-guided processes to overcome perceived limitations, build upon the experience and expertise of predecessors, and chart unexplored paths towards liberation.

Nevertheless, I am also learning to distinguish between the three. Pedagogy involves less leadership and more modesty than creative work, and it also involves a more diverse group of participants than self-selected activists. While there are great opportunities for cross-pollination, this is no substitute for having solid foundations in didactics.

These modest beginnings have encouraged me to initiate a more structured and comprehensive research on emancipatory pedagogies. You can find more resources in the Additional Resources section that I am motivated to read and integrate into my work.
